Rules

• Only fully paid up entries will be entered into the competition

• The deadline for entries to be received is at noon on Friday June 11th. Postal entries put in the post prior to this deadline will also be accepted.

• Carefully complete the application form, correctly predicting all group stage results and completing the knock out stages.

• Please ensure your group results lead to and match your correct winner and runner-up of each group. If this is not the case, your group results will be used to determine your group winners and runners-up.

• The scoring system will be used to determine your progress and produce a final leaderboard.

• For the World Cup tournament, FIFA uses the following criteria to rank teams in the Group Stage:

1) Greatest number of points in all group matches.
2) Goal difference in all group matches.
3) Greatest number of goals scored in all group matches.
4) Greatest number of points in matches between tied teams.
5) Goal difference in matches between tied teams.
6) Greatest number of goals scored in matches between tied teams.
7) Drawing of lots by the FIFA Organising Committee.

• In the event of number 7) being needed, for the purpose of this competition, the team ranked highest in the FIFA Rankings will progress.

• For games in the knockout stages, the result AET (after extra time) is taken as the match result.

• In the event of players sharing the golden boot, 10 points will be awarded to each player.

• In the event of an overall points draw for any prize, the competition winner will be decided in the following order:

• Closest to the Tie-Break answer
• Correct number of results in the group stages
• Should this still not yield a winner, the prize money will be shared
• In the event of two people tied for first place, they will share the prize money for 1st and 2nd. In the event of two people tied for second place, they will share the prize money for 2nd and 3rd.
